Saturday Classes
All classes start at 9:00 AM and end around 4 PM.
The day will be spent concentrating on a single skill. We will cover gathering materials, constructing tools and developing the techniques that will be needed to complete the project.
Cost: All Saturday classes are $60, which includes all materials.
Fire Making Intensive
The bow-drill and hand-drill will be covered in detail. The student will learn:
- to identify and gather materials to construct fire-making kits.
- to make their own bow-drill kit.
- to construct a proper fire lay.
- techniques and proper form of each skill.
Introduction to FlintKnapping
The student will learn how to break stone in a precise fashion to make blades and points suitable for knives and arrows.
Basket Making
Containers of all kinds were used by our ancestors to hold and carry many various items. The basket was popular because of the many different shapes and sizes in which they could be made. The student will learn to make two different styles of baskets, and the skills needed to extend these abilities to baskets of all kinds.
